Five years ago was a busy time for us. We had just moved into our new house, adopted a new dog and were on the brink of the most life-changing event one can experience: parenthood. I remeber those early days (which were a complete daze) and wondering why people kept telling me that it goes by really fast? The days and nights were long and hard, yet it really was a magical time. I learned so much about myself, my spouse and my newborn baby during that time - it is so hard to believe that that little newborn is about to be five years old! For some reason all of the prior birthdays came and went with not much thought to how big my boy was becoming, but five just seems so big! What will I do when he is turning 10, 15... 20!? Happy early birthday to my favorite boy! I love you!

Early July
We spent the 4th as we always do, with our favorite family - the Davenports- Matt, Deneshia, Ellie and Kate. Jackson and Ellie have been together since pretty much birth and that goes for the younger siblings as well. Here are some photos from our festivities this year.
Kyle and I just returned from a weekend in Nashville. So fun! We just enjoyed our down time- shopping, seeing movies, visiting with friends (shout out to Elizabeth and Derrick!) - and lastly seeing one of our favorite R&B artists, Maxwell! The venue, The Ryman was formerly known as the Grand Old Opry and it was amazing! He put on an amazing show! Left us definately wanting more! Us and about 3000 other women that were there, haha.
Gearing up for Jackson's FIFTH birthday now, party is on the 25th with his classmates from school at American Adventures. Why does 5 seem so old?! 2, 3, and even 4 came with excitement and wonder- but 5 seems like, so big to this mom. sigh. I guess it only gets worse as they get older. The time really goes fast- it didn't seem that way when you had a screaming newborn but now it just flies!
