Thanksgiving down south...

Part of Thanksgiving in Dublin involves a mule (golf cart like thing for all of you city slickers) ride out to a friend's farm to visit the animals. Here is a sampling of photos & our new/old animal friends. The baby roosters were so cute, bunnies so sweet but our all time favorite has to be the Shetland ponies (which Caroline says she is getting for her birthday)! Happy Turkey Day!

Sanity check

Our dog Guinness has had ongoing health problems for what seems like forever, but really semi-serious for about 18 months. We finally got referred to an animal dermatologist here in Atlanta who after looking at him, doing bloodwork and taking several biopsies has discovered that he suffers from an autoimmune disease. At one point during this journey, he was taking up to 18 pills a day to get better or at least somewhere near normal. He is now on - and weaning off of - some heavy duty steriods. He looks a little better but now he has a seriously awful side effect- uncontrollable urination. It has become so bad that as he is laying on his bed (or any place else) he will just urinate and just lay in it. He will start to urinate and then walk all over the house (as a constant steady stream is coming out). Needless to say, I have almost completely lost my sanity. My entire upstairs carpet (mainly master bedroom) will have to be seriously chem dry-ed when this is done. My foyer and kitchen rugs have gone to the cleaners and will not be put back out until this is over. Our main family room rug may have to go away for a cleaning too. My house reeks- after me completely cleaning the floors at least 2 times a day - yesterday I left a note for my cleaning girl Sarah for her to give special attention to my downstairs floors- still reeks! ugh. All I can hope is that it gets better. Until then, the poor dog is living outside and in our garage. I just hung up with the dermatologist and we are going to taking him down even more off the steriods so hopefully he will be back in the house very very soon!

Other than that, I've been crafting. yes, me, crafting. I've got barely 15 minutes to myself and this is what I've decided to do. I've been making some special pillowcases for the girls in our life and painting tee shirts. Here is a photo of Miss Caroline's shirt. I think it turned out pretty cute for an amateur like me!
