Sneak Peak

A few lighting images I've selected for the new house. Hope you love as much as I do!

I have one last fixture to buy and it's a tough one. The dining room. It has to go with the foyer lanterns (3rd one down) which are NOT brassy gold & silver, but just silver. It has to go with my boring very traditional dining room furniture. And it has to go with me. It's so hard making these selections without living there and knowing the space. Good thing I have some help.

Less than 5 weeks to go! Yippee skippy!

Snow Daze

As a kid, I lived for snow days (which didn't come very often in Macon, GA). I would pray to hear those sweet words - school cancelled. Now as a parent, I have mixed emotions. Yes, the first snow day is fun. Sledding, hot chocolate, maybe even a snow man or two. Sure, I can live with a second day, not as much outside fun, but it's ok. The third day as arrived and it's not even funny. We can't leave. There are no kids around to play with (our average neighbor age has to be 80). I've exhausted all of my creative resources. Well almost. Today our big event will be baking chocolate cookies & creating something with pipe cleaners. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? It's not looking good so far. This mama needs a break. And a drink.

Sleeping Beauties

So we broke down and let the kids fall asleep in our bed after a hour of back and forth of "I can't sleep". When we went up to move them I just died laughing. Jackson is sleeping typical style, on top of covers, shirt pulled up and hand partially in his pants. Slippers still on is what set me over the edge. Caroline is tucked in, nice and perfect, how she likes it. This did end up coming back to bite us though when C arrived at my bedside at 4:30 this morning wanting to know why we moved her to her room. After a hour of THAT back and forth of letting her get in the bed with us, back in her bed, etc. she finally went back to sleep. Mama's tired but yet still completely screwed up on my schedule due to the week in Utah. Tonight it may be time for half of a sleeping pill. And definately NO kiddos in my bed!
